I gave up wearing cycling shorts (on my motorbike at least) as the padding is in the wrong place.

I've heard some good reports on "Moto Skivvies" that have padding designed for motorcycling, not tried them myself.

Luckily my EXC has additional foam and a gel pad as it's set up for rallying and long days in the saddle, unfortunately it does mean that even at 6' 1" I struggle to get a foot down sometimes

I found the same about the cycling shorts Tony. The padding is more to the side than a proper cheek support.

I bought a damaged seat from a KTM forum guy and had it rebuilt with thicker and better foam. Ok for me at 6'3 as I can cope with the extra inch of height but no use for less normal people.

Standing up is fine if you ride in open country. We have hedge lined lanes so I have to sit down a lot or get beaten about the head by the overhanging shrubbery and bigger tree branches - some may say that comes out in my posts.

One option is to remove the seatcover and drill/slice the seat foam then replace cover.

This will make the seat more squidgy, although that doesn't necessarily mean more comfort.

The choice of seatcover is also a factor - the lighter and more stretchy materials allow for the foam to compress readily = softer. The more robust covers give greater support.

Haha! Thanks Grey did just that on Sunday as you know. Thought you'd have more advice as you're the sit down king! ;)

Used my MTB short which worked a treat! Thanks for all the advice guys.
