I'm looking at getting a 2009 Wr 450f and want to know how much it costs to fit lighting kit and indicators to get a full mot, anyone done the conversion?

I'd have thought you might have considered this Mick.

Rod always concerned about how loud those pipes are!
The Wr's are pretty quiet when standard but want to to make sure lighting is adequate for night time riding. My wife had said its ok to get another bike, but don't want to take the mick spending loads of money just getting it fully road legal. I know the newer Wr's have fully compliant lighting but my budget (what I can get fit tenere) will not stretch that far.

I had to convert my 250 as it had been "fettled" to get an mot but wasn't really suitable for everyday use, parts including wire/switches and connectors amounted to less than £50.
A complete lighting kit from the USA on Ebay is less than £150 but I'm sure there are UK supplies around, indicators are not required anyway.
What level of supply is the bike at..i.e..brake light switches, handlebar switches, etc, etc?

You don't need indicators for a "full MOT" my bikes usually get an advisory "tested as presented" which I believe refers to the fact it has no indicators/mirrors/chain guard which are all allowed on a "single seat, off road style motorcycle".

My last MOT was without lights, I taped over them as my LED rally set up is a bit suspect regarding suitability for the road (i.e. no beam pattern, just loads of fookin' light)! but I have never used it after dark in the UK. The MOT is still a "full MOT" with the above advisory, nothing specific about the lights!
