I bought the Garmin Oregon 600- same features as the Montana just smaller. I didn,t like the "bricklike" shape of the Montana. Less than £200 for the basic Oregon if you shop around. |

I would need the Montana as my eyes are not as good as they were so if I can't see this then I'll need an iPad |

What's the difference between a GPS system and an old iPhone in a waterproof ram mount? Just keen to know |

I always struggled with my iPhone to create and see the routes and found the screen too small . |

I have worked the system! I found a site www.navi-technology.co.uk Search Garmin Montana (nothing else brings up the required page) Montana 600, with OS maps bundled for £299. Printed the page and toddled off to my local Go Outdoors They happily gave me the Price Guarantee - £299 less 10%, so £269 The OS maps, as expected, were 2011, but they are good enough for me There was an offer on for £50 off 1:25k OS mapping - The Manager was "dubious" about giving me the Price Guarantee because, having the offer, the deal was different to the navi-technology one. But he gave me the Guarantee with no hassle. I wasn't bothered about 1:25k, but I was disappointed that the £50 off offer ended in April 2015!! Won't be having those then. Unit is charging now, then I'll have a play with it when I get a chance. Mike |

Nice one ! I got mine from millets online and paid 298 with full uk maps and os maps . The fun starts when you try using it . Then 70 quid for a ram mount and powered cradle . Money money money ! The things we do to ride green lanes |

I use the Satmap Active 10. Agree with previous comments it can be difficult to see in certain lights, the battery life is fantastic. The waterproof case can be a bit fiddly too. For the price it's good. Can't comment on the Garmin as never used one. |
