Post subject:  which bike is best. your opinions please

Hello All,

I've been reading up a lot on these bikes - Kawasaki KLX 250 and the HONDA 250L.

What is the difference, what is the best?

I think that reading up on them the KLX seems to have , better suspension, is lighter, the price is cheaper etc.

But why do more people seem to choose the Honda?

Let me know what you think.

Cheers in advance.

Well they are similar I guess but I think more people go for the Honda as its cheaper new. I know a dealer near me sells the Honda for £3800 on the road. They have them on offer.

Main differences from what I have seen are...

Kawasaki
Carburettor
Front Suspension 43mm inverted cartridge fork with 16-way compression damping adjustment
Rear Suspension Uni-Trak¨ with adjustable preload, 16-way compression and rebound damping adjustment
Weight 297lbs

Honda

Fuel Injection
Front Suspension 43mm inverted cartridge fork. No adjustment
Rear Suspension Pro-Link single shock with spring. No compression or rebound damping adjustment
Weight 320lbs

The Honda feels faster to ride...I would chose the Kawasaki but only because the suspension has adjustment.

Yes. Only the 2015 model? Although outside Europe I believe the 2015 model still runs a cab for some reason.

Sorry, that's incorrect

They are all Fuel injection from 2009 onwards in UK & Europe, only carb in USA and ROW

Sorry I was asking you the question. My mate bought one recently which he found is a USA imported model and it runs a carb it's a 2015 model.

Anyway I stand corrected if I am wrong 8-)

I hired the Kwacker in Lesbos this year...dunno what year but it was Fuel Injection... Very capable, and looked cool too... Bit underpowered, but they all are as trail bikes...I liked it !Image

No worries - all EEC KLX 250s are FI for emissions - since 2009

USA don't care so it's carb & also the reason why the DRZ 400s is still sold in USA too

I think that VW/Audi Group would have to disagree with you there ;)

Agree on paper the KLX seems better. I went out to buy one, then just to be sure went for a test ride of the Honda to rule it out. I went home with the Honda. It just feels better.
