Hi all, Just in the process of moting and registering a ktm 200, but I wondered if it would be considered too loud by most people for Greenlaning on? It's not ridiculously loud, but I thought it might be more frowned upon.. I've seen a few posts of them being mentioned, but not a whole lot. Cheers Paul Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk |

I used too own the same bike. If it's passes the mot with the same silencer it has on now, then no problem. Superb bike for trail riding. |

You may need to repack the exhaust. |

Provided it hasn't been fitted with a loud aftermarket silencer, then it will be fine. I used to have one - great bikes for trailriding. |

OK awesome thanks! It came with an fmf powercore 2 fitted, but it also has the original ktm exhaust with it. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk |

Being new here I didn't realise there was a policy in exhaust noise..mine passed the MOT but I wouldn't say it's quiet by any means..we all know that some MOT stations can be more generous than others on the noise front ! www.trumpettouring.com |

Louder bikes can be heard coming by walkers etc. anyway - so noise regulations aside I would argue noisy exhausts (up to a point) increase safety. Not that common sense ever prevails these days |

Yeah I can see that arguments too, I just dont want to be seen as a hoodlum by the general public. The old exhaust looks like it comes apart quite easy, so I'll have a look inside when I rescue my circlip pliers Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk |

The OEM silencer is a better choice for the trails as its designed to give more low end torque than the powercore. That means progress at lower revs = quieter progress and longer service intervals! Noisy exhaust that sacrifices low end torque for top end power = more noise, higher revs, more servicing and less lanes. |
