I have a 250 Serow 2008, fuel injected model. Does anyone know where I can get suspension bushes/part numbers or a parts diagram? Some parts seem hard to find as it was not officially imported.

Greetings fellow Serow owner,

I have found Fowlers of Bristol to give me good service in the past.

What parts are you searching for? I replaced my swing arm plastic type bushes, item number 3, with roller bearings retaining the outer top hat style, number 2. So far as I know the suspension parts are interchangeable between most of the models although disc brakes and drum are different.

Thanks Hugh.
Fowlers were great for the XT225 Serow I previously owned but not as useful for the 250 model, they just said we can't get parts as it's not imported. Fortunately some parts appear on other models so it's a matter of finding a parts diagram, also the Yamaha Tricker shares the same engine. The rear sprocket is a problem, its got cush drive inserts in the sprocket same as the Tricker but more teeth. I got one made by John Brown but he's now retired.
Looking at the parts diagram you sent I'm not sure the parts are the same on the prolink assembly but I've printed it off and will check. I eventually found a diagram by searching under XT250XC, Ronnie's mailorder.com, an American site came up with a full parts diagram. Putting the part numbers I think I need into Fowlers came up with the parts so I'm hopeful. I'll keep you informed and thanks for your help.

Dave

Earlier this year I replaced all my bearings/bushes in the rear suspension prior to selling on my 2007 XT250.
Used partzilla, took a while and not cheap.
I was short of one bearing, but managed to get it locally using code stamped on it from a bearing factor.
Lack of grease nipples was a major problem during my ownership, over the years I rebuilt the rear end 3 times.
I tried using the us model rear sprocket with spacers where the cush drive goes only to shear off all the studs .
Gone orange now, do miss the Serow though.
XT225.com a great source of info.

Thanks Ratcatcher. I got a parts diagram from Ronnies mail order in America:
http://www.ronniesmailorder.com/oempart ... 50xc-parts

Fowlers website is brilliant as it lists part numbers and all the parts are used on other Yamaha models:
https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/

All parts bar one arrived the day after I ordered them and the last one arrived yesterday, less than a week since I ordered. Rebuild now under way. Pricing was reasonable I thought.

I knew about the 225 Serow website as I owned one but it doesn't seem to have been updated for years. The Serow suits me as it's low but doesn't handle the rough stuff as well as a bigger bike.

I think you are mixing up sites,

http://www.xt225.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm

is a very active forum, mainly US but quite a few members in the UK.

Reggie on the site is Mr Serow and runs both 225 and 250 models

Thanks, you're right I only knew the 225 Serow site.

Bike suspension now rebuilt, thanks for the input, hope other owners will find it useful
