Hi,

I don't post much here but I am a keen follower. So, at the risk of being a bit cheeky can I ask for help?

My Speedometer transmission unit is kaput and I can't find a new one either here in Spain, with bete-uk or, according to my mechanic here, in the factory.

So, anyone got one or know of one going?

Details

Beta Alp 200 4T – 2003

Frame Nº: ZD3T1000020002124

27-32463-000 Speedometer transmission

Thanks folks

Simon

Hello Simon,

A little while ago I had problems with mine not working because a spacer drive washer was missing. Fortunately for me another member kindly did some research and found a KTM washer which fixed my problem.

Take a look at;

http://www.ams4ktm.co.uk/ktm-parts-find ... 146_730383

The image of the speedometer drive looks very similar to our original unit.

Whilst investigating I did not come across a single replacement CEV drive that was exactly the same but it might just be that the KTM version of speedo gearbox could fit or be modified to fit your bike  Perhaps if you could measure your drive unit and/or take it to a KTM dealer they might have a suitable replacement. I received very good service from AMS Motorcycles.

I will try to look out for a 'genuine' drive but let me know how you get on and if possible I will try to help from this side of the channel.

TTFN

Hugh.

Hello Hugh,

Firstly - apologies for my terribly late response - I'm not getting any notifications of replies on here :(

In the end my local mechanic has bodged up a fix after waiting patiently for a new unit ordered from the States that didn't exist in the end . . .

But I'll check out this option in case the fix un-fixes itself :D

Regs

Simon
