Apart from taking a can of lube out with you on the trails,or as I have done.Fitted a Scotoiler, hidden away in the airbox and feeds the chain via a tube onto the front sprocket/chain.
This has helped chain life a lot.
You can also rig up your own diy version with a plastic bottle with an inline isolation valve and feed your chain manually with lube.
Whatever you do you will find the water and crud will soon wash it all off rapidly.
Hope that helps.
;)

1 use a good quality O or X ring chain.
2 tension correctly, sit on the bike and make sure there is still movement when the swing arm is horizontal. An over tensioned chain will wear quickly
3 use a non sticky chain lube, Wurth dry chain lube or similar.
4 when cleaning don't blast the jet wash too close to the chain you will force the crud into the links.

Follow these tips and your chain and sprockets should last well. :D

Don't sweat 'the chain' man, they are a service item and as said can be had cheaply, orings are oiled ( greased) inside... They are pretty much 'fire and forget'... Get on with riding... The chain will be fine... Don't waste chain money on lubes...they are gone in minutes...

I treat mine as a consumable and accept the once a year or so replacement.
My theory, however misplaced, is to buy a £60 O ring chain and just keep it clean. Any lube will, to my mind, just attract the crud and help it stick and grind away.
Where the crud builds up round the gearbox sprocket will soon wipe anything off it anyway.
If you look at everyone's chain after a few miles, they are all gleaming.

I ride a two stroke. Chains and tyres last much longer. So I buy a cheap chain and don't oil it ever. I am badass.
