I did all the free mods to my wr250f when i got it, I also changed the inlet cam for a yz250f inlet cam, this has made the engine a lot more snappy, good for racing, but the rear wheel spins up easier in the mud.

I haven't needed to change the jets in the carb, just a bit of adjustment, but I am still running a standard exhaust.

Craig, mine has no number plate light, but does have a brake light switch front and rear.
Kev, is the accelerator pump mod the one where you change the leak jet?

check this vid, works a treat to alleviate the bogging.
also do the thing with the breather pipes that is shown. that works a treat too. :D

the grey wire mod is worth doing also, but dont just cut the wire, make it reversible in case you don't get along with the lightswitchy power delivery.

Not heard good things about the big bores on these bikes to be fair. I will do the ap mod, I did it on my drz with fcr39mx. Also need to check my throttle stop and jetting. For the short time I rode it the only real thing that stood out was that when getting on the throttle there was hesitation until reaching a certain RPM and then it takes off!

I had the same issue with my 08 WR that I got from a dealership back in Jan.

I got around the issue by installing the JD kit (comes with o-ring mod), along with the stock exhaust, both acquired on eBay via the US :)

The exhaust it came with was an FMF which was horribly loud so I wanted the stock exhaust.

I'm not sure what fixed it, but it still got more than enough oomph for me, it now starts much easier and the hesitation is gone.

Fair enough but I have not heard of a problem on the kit for the wrf250. Gas Gas also use it on their 300 4 stroke....
