Just spent £500 on Klim jacket & trousers - gortex so I thought it was good value as the jackets can be £450 on their own

Early days but seems pretty good

I've changed to armour and an RAF foul weather jacket and trouser combo for £40 unused.
Water and windproof and cheap to replace if damaged and the armour fits better than the in-jacket stuff.

Maybe not the height of elegance but it works.

I couldn't dream of paying for Klim or other pricey gear even though it is really good - I'd be too scared to damage it.
My old adventure jacket was £150 about 15 years ago and is still in good nick but lost its waterproofing abilities. The elbow armour was rubbish when I needed it last year.

Get the nikwax out to clean and waterproof.

Buy most of mine in the sales..........good kit, just a bit cheaper.

That's my job anyway...........just make sure to do a empty load rinse before putting in the nikwax.

Kon,

I bought a Hunter Class suit at the NEC in November, £80 for jacket and trousers.

I wear armour underneath, so it only has to keep me warm and dry, which it does :D .

I have been using 'Fabsil' which I purchased from a camping shop a few years ago. Bought 2.5L of it and have done my riding kit, jackets / trousers etc. and my tent a couple of times.

No need to put this in your washing machine, you spray it straight on. I used a compressor and paint spray gun previously, but since it's not working currently, I used a pump sprayer the type used in greenhouses etc although any empty spray bottle will obviously do nicely.

A friend mentioned that he puts his stuff in the tumble drier when it has dried naturally. I have done this but can't say if it makes any difference.

It's a great product, the water just beads on top of your clothing and just rolls off. Think I may spray my bike in it!

It's not expensive for what it is and will last you ages. Just looked on Amazon and they have 5L @ £19.99 - Was £29.99 Bargain
