do you have to have the side stand safety switch connected

If you do mine has never been tested cos it's been disconnected since 1998 on my road bike! :lol:

I don't know what the letter of the law says, but I always have
mine disconnected and never had a problem, the other way around it is to fit an self retracting stand, thus negating the need for the switch.

I,m no mot tester but if the switch is removed it cant be tested.
what did surprise me though was removal of the rear footpegs can be a fail.
