Is an FIM tyre road legal in the UK or must it also have an 'E' mark?

They must be e marked, I imagine that most FIM tyres will be.

FIM tyres are a rip off (13mm tread depth against 19mm on non FIM). Not worth the money unless your doing races etc that are affiliated to the FIM.
Its the E mark thats the important bit.

Plenty of motocross tyres are road legal and a wiser buy. I'm fairly sure AC10's aren't FIM but they road legal. Trelleborg Army's aren't FIM either as tread too deep.

I agree with what you say about FIM tread depth. It's like paying £10 extra for a part worn knobbly ;o)

My favourite tyres are the Motoz Terrapactor or Motoz Tractionator if you want a tyre that will last forever with seroiously big and deep knobbles.
