cheers guys just waiting on main bearings from the garage there on back order!!

Hows it going with the repair?

Hi just got the bike back yesterday had it out today the problem seems to have gone now those bearings have been replaced the garage said there were no obvious reasons as to why the bearings have failed still running on orgiginal piston etc all seems ok well so far so good anyway out on a full days trailing tommorrow to scarhouse resevoir so ill see how she runs with a full day of use tomorrow but the clattering noise definatley seems to have gone.

well managed the day but seems like ive still got a rattly noise coming from the engine maybe something not right in there

when doe it do the rattle? Stationairy or only when moving?

I had an o6 WR250F and when the chain was getting towards needing adjusting, it would rattlle ast low revs on acceleration. iT was just vibration on the drive chain (not the cam chain). The problem was cured when correctly adjusted.

I noticed it when i was holding a steady speed at fairly moderate speeds and low-mid revs or or deceleration.

when your next out, pic a nice straight road and see if you can recreate it. then just glance down at your drive chain and see if its vibrating. My one did the same on the standard chain when it was getting to the point it needed adjusting/replacing
