I have a DRZ 400, just bought some new boots ( some may call them canoes ) and I noticed on a KTM the distance between the foot peg and arm was greater than on my DRZ, if I can increase this distance it will help me get my plates of meat inbetween for better gear changes, :x

It has to be said that the DR-Z was designed for the dainty of foot.

The previous owner welded an extension onto the gearchange of my DR-Z - engined CCM.

Your best bet would be to either find someone with a KTM and see if they can help, or take your lever off and compare it with a KTM one in a dealers.

Or buy a KTM!

Are you saying there are no splines on a DRZ? I don't understand why you cant move the gear lever up a spline.

Ah.........I think you are saying move forward with another type of gear lever....

When I had my DRZ I tried rotating the gear leaver by one spline but there was something in the way, can't remember what though.
You do eventually get use to it if you keep trying although it always felt slightly uncomfortable.

They are completely different, DRZ "clamps on" where as ktm ones "bolt on" the end of the slightly tapered shaft ;)

Maybe it's your new boots? My tech 3s were quite stiff when new so I got some pivot Pegz, they make it loads easier/smoother to change gear and brake.

Yes the boots are new and never worn MX boots / Enduro boots befor, they are getting more flexible.
The spline does not look tapperd, just has a 6mm bolt to nip it on.

Lifted the gear change arm up ,and had to remove the casing, covering the front sprocket, (very close to the chain now ) I will use it has a sample part and take it to a local MX shop they may be able to help,or to a enginering place and have a inch welded on it, to lengthen it.

Will also look into my other options, pivot pegs or going orange,

Thanks Chaps
