I have just picked up a pair of the above off Ebay for £72,very slightly worn.

I am new trail riding and would appreciate any advice on tyre pressures.

Hi

I'm relatively new too and have TKCs on my G650 Xcountry. I have been running standard road pressures and find them fine for most surfaces. Their only drawback is soft mud retention and a slightly lower pressure may make them deform enough to squeeze the mud out. Haven't tried this yet as it has been dry round here!

I am also nervous about not having rim locks and pulling the valve out if the tyre rotates. There is also a greater chance of pinching the tube on a rock with low pressure.

Lets see what the Pros say!

Cheers
Trevor

Cheers Trevor,

I had my first run today on the knobblies today using standard pressures (36 and 42)..seems fine on a mostly dry run.

I dont think I would have made it out of the notorious Violets Lane,Furneaux Pelham without those tyres. It was wet, deep and very soft :o
