Hi,
Please could anyone recommend a gps unit for green laning? I'm new to this lark but would really like to get a unit a could preset routes on.......would be nice to be able to review a physical route that ive done aswell but i think this may be more in the world of data loggers ..?

Any cheap crappy PDA with built in GPS (think £30 on ebay) can run memory map (OS map software)

you can do it on the cheap if you need to, that's what I did.

I was involved in said thread, ended up going for the Road Angel 7000. Got it off ebay for 80 quid.... but it didn't turn up so I got another one for 50 quid... then the first one turned up so I ended up with 2, but thats another story. Seems easy enough to use-ish, I just can't work out how to send a route to it and follow it...

I plot the route on the unit it's self for the same reason

touch the screen on the route at any point, that opens a window
press follow route
delete the coordinates box an follow the arrow

Assuming you have ActiveSynch loaded then:

Remember that to copy routes from the PC to the RA the MM client must be open on the RA.
The opposite is true for uploading your tracklog when MM shouldn't be open.
If you are offered a more up to date version for the RA when uploading you have gone wrong somewhere. Shut the proggies down and start again!
