Depends what sort of riding you do. For example, would you ride your X at 60-70mph for an hour to get to a meet up?

Two different bikes for two different things.

Only after I got there.... I do regularly ride an hour to meets, but not on the motorway, it's too scary, it is actually ok on roads, it's a Honda... And it gets out most weeks for a full days sledgehammering....

How often do you change your piston etc? I thought sustained road miles is what killed them?

Mario,

Can you pm me or post a link to a list of suppliers for modifying the crf250l.
I am a new member and can't get your original link to work.

Thanks

Bent my brake pedal so cut up an old Suzuki DR350 one with a folding tip and welded to the original Honda. Works great pleased with the result. Hopefully picture attached.

Ive always found the rear of the bike to be a little soft. The suspension compresses a fair bit when I sit on it and ground clearance can be a problem.

After market springs which don't require modification don't seem to be available.

That's why I have been beavering away having a custom spring made. I had the dimensions of the original spring taken along with the strength of it. My new spring is stiffer but the idea was to not overwhelm the damper by going too stiff.

First impressions are good, more testing to follow. :)

Are you sure the 250x spring won't fit, I have one here if anybody wants to try ( I changed mine to the 450x spring) which no one knows fits, it's heavier as standard)

Ive not heard the 250x spring fits, it would be interesting to know what the weight of a 250x spring is as in it kg/mm measurement.

The 250l spring is slightly tricky due to the fact its not parallel- the last two coils are of a smaller diameter than the others.

As for cost, pricey, due to me having to purchase a second hand shock and spring to take all the measurements from (while keeping my bike on the road). I will try to sell on the old shock at some point and claw back some of the outlay.
