Red , just a point if you decide to change the handle bars as I did , when refitting bar switches you will need to drill small holes in the bars as the switches have locating pins to spigot into said holes, cheers whitto

Hi Red bar riser do not have to be bike specific, three things are needed.
1/ distance between bar cap bolt centres from inside edge of one hole to out side edge off opposite = centres
2/ bar diameter usually 7/8" 22mm unless you going to fit fat bars.
3/ height you want to raise.

If you contact ebay seller and ask hole centres or look at Item number:

120945048316 they have slotted holes

Once again its dithering lazy me posting, maybe once I get it sorted I will stop bothering you folks with silly questions.

I would like to get the bars risers, as above seem great but I do have a question.

What sizes have folks chosen and did those have any effect on the cable/hose lengths?

Thank you for your patience

Now if I change bars I will need different risers, butthe question still would remain on cables etc.

Are you beginning to wish you hadn't started all this?

I would possibly go with the risers that will fit your existing bars on the basis that you can fit new bars later.
Do it in stages as, from what I've seen, bars are pretty pricey.

I just about got away with risers on the Yam but there is plenty of slack on the KTM pipes and cables.
Have you got tyhe bike at home yet - if not op into Gedges and have a fiddle with them and see what slack you might have.

Also have a look on Venhill Cables website - they should be able to make you longer cables if you need them.
http://www.venhill.co.uk/Hoses_&_Cables ... _R_2010-13 but they only list the R, not the L version.

Thanks DS.

If I changed bars I would go with teh far bar, so would need a different riser to start with, so might just stick to the std bars and a std 7/8 size riser.

Other people have already carried out far more modifications than I have, and it was just a question to them on size of riser and if any cable problems. As non have commented about the cables, i assume no problems with bar risers. I have seem 25mm risers as above, but not yet foun dteh 50mm ones, but thats because I am lazy

Thanks again whitto. I have seen the bars you mentioned earlier and above. They are std 7/8 but as you say a different shape. So thanks you I will order 25mm risers as should be similar effect for the std bars.

Thanks you. :)

Levers can wait.

PS have you run your without the snorkel/air filter cover on teh lanes? It breathes better without it on the road, but dont want to risk any water or dirt into the air box. (I have not seen under teh seat, just as teh took it off for a ride)

My air box is drilled on cover with 10 mm and 20mm holes and snorkel removed I've been thru water at about 500 mm with no probs but only went steady so as not to make bow wave. Only opened air box cos I've got fuel controller and pro-circuit exhaust. Did notice increase in induction noise. :D

For gods sake don't let him get near water - we are sensitive souls and couldn't go through all that swearing again.

The WR had had the breather pipes done since then, plus I found the throttle grip was loose and did not twist when wet. So without getting water in and having power to get out the water is not a problem, only trouble is what will the Honda be like. I love bow waves

:)
