Chain and Sprockets.

OEM Gear Ratio - 14T Front Sprocket / 40T Rear Sprocket *OEM Chain Length - 520 Pitch / 106 Links

Most would go down one tooth at the front as easy and cheap. Going up 6 on the rear as Martin would need tehnew chain as said, plus quite a bit difference in gearing as would be like two do at the front. I would not like to move more than 1 tooth either way on a front due to the chain bending or space on the cover depending which way to do.

RFX gear lever - a few options listed for CRFs but nothing for the L version.

RFX Flexible lever set - again which option for the L vesion?

There was an immaculate 2010 400 for £3400 but that sold in 20 seconds.

That's the problem with a firm selling a bike without thinking about it's use - or thinking hard about flogging extras.
I would do the serious sums before committing.

I think I am committed really. Its not as if I am ever going to be good enough for an enduro bike, and our lanes are getting easier.

Although they had my Bonnie in as a SOR they took a part ex in for it, so not really got cash, although that should not matter, but a useful low maintenance 250 should be good with just a few mods like tryes and levers, risrs and bash plate. Trouble is know what fits if anything from the other CRFs, little I expect, but I will call MX design on the levers and gear lever.

As you well know, I will NEVER do justice to any enduro bike but in the absence of any trail alternatives that would suit me, the 400 was the best option, allowing for the extra oil changes etc.
Mine will never get stressed, that's for sure.

Don't forget there will be other lanes that won't be so motorway'd when we eventually go out and about if spring/summer comes.

Buying any bike or car always ends up more expensive as there is always something to change or improve but it does seem that the Honda is a bit lacking in common sense areas such as 'off-road' protection.
Adding in for tyres, bars, risers, exhaust, bash plate, hand guards etc will rack up the cost - how 'mainstream' is it in being able to get bits for it? Seems a bit rare at the moment.
The service intervals are a bonus though.

For commercial reasons can we post supplier links / our recommended suppliers and discounts out of the public section and into the members section

Okay Mario links elsewhere.

David, you are the voice of good reason and sense, so maybe that rules me out  Also the road sections between will be easier.

Tyres I will discount as consumables, hand guards I had already donated to their bike. Risers yes, bars maybe not. 13 tooth sprocket yes. Bash plate is a bit more expensive though. It is a pity that all the mods and aftermarket appear to be USA or Canada, but trusting a few will pop up here. But I think thats enough to start with, oh sorry the RFX gear lever is a yes.

+1

I wouldn't reccomend one for E Sx lanes, I have road tested the Honda and got it muddy.

AJP are a better choice in the price bracket.

Well looks like I will be on my own then in my decission, oh well at least it has an electric start. As to how often it gets to avoids getting muddy and the marshes will be up to how often David Scott misses them out.

Nasty!!! But fair :( A full name and shame :( :(

Looks like I'd better agree to them soon but maybe not next week unless the consensus is to pay a visit.
What's the Honda like on slimy Nash Street?

We are just prompting a debate to make sure it is really what you want red.
We will miss the restart entertainment though :D
