No name and shame, but if we dont do teh marshes that often then my bike choice does not become as much of an issue, although I see it a bit heavy for up Regate, but then so am I

If we have one or two members visiting, they might want the Marshes??? I have no idea on nash street, but that would be more down to tyres. I wonder if teh STD tyres are as bad or worse than the MT21's I put on and promptly hit the mud or failed to move forward!!

As muddymike's photos of Kent on TBM show it being pretty dry, it may be reasonable on the Marsh (although it is marsh, not chalk downland) so I suppose I'd better say yes :o

Nash Street seems evil on any tyre - how does a bit of grass get so utterly slimy and slippery?

I think you're worrying too much Red. I know I ride a bit of trials but I'm no more than clubman level so if I can ride my 30 year old XL125 up Redgate I'm sure a new 250 Honda will do it no problem. Trial tyres, rimlocks, drop the tyre pressure and off you go. Ok bashplate for rock step maybe.

And very easy you make it look too

Keeping this on the 250L, an interesting point on tyres.

What tyres should I put in there? AC10s have been mentioned, but maybe knobbly front and Trials rear?

I will have a look at whats exposed regarding bash plate, but tyres and spring gear change and bar risers are the first 3 mods I guess.

Have a look at the Metzeler 6 day Extreme, it's what I have on the front of my DR. Always seemed good and seems to get good write ups.

Andy has a very good point about his 125's abilities but have you seen him on the road - head between the bars and feet on the rear fender

Looking at the photo, there is a plate between the frame rails, much like my old WR but that also had corner protectors.
Will you be able to get one for the Honda - everyone swears by the plastic one on KTM's as being more than adequate and something like that must be cheaper than an expensive alloy one.
It certainly needs something to protect those frame rails.
