Mouses, great if you race, not so good on the road.
I use them in my KTM for H&H and enduros. They can be difficult to fit, but it is all about technique and using the right equipment. First you need to use plenty of lube when fitting them. The mouse lube is expensive so use petrolium jelly, it's much cheaper and use pleny of it to make your mouses last. Mouse into the tyre then put the whole thing on your wheel. I have a stand to hold the wheel as I'm always changing tyres on my CRM's and the KTM and it helps a lot.
Don't fit a new mouse to a new trye, especially on the rear, it makes it more diffiuclt. A front is easy and you should get most of it on with your hands.
Use the long levers (300mm+), rim lock in the rear, the front won't need it until it shrinks.
Life? Well, the one's I have in at the moment have been used for the past couple of years and they may be approaching 2.5/3 years - I can't remember when I bought them (they have shrunk so last month I had two rim locks in the rear and one in the front to make sure the tyre did not pop off, I need to chuck them now). However, I only use my KTM for racing and that is once a month at best. Mouses do not like heat - it destroys them and riding on the road they get plenty, so they woould not last.
Oh, mouses are not legal on the road but if you put a tubeless valve in the rim, how would the police work out you have mouses, or how many know what they are? (Bozzy excluded on this one)
