Take a look at these too:
http://www.contour-hd.co.uk/buy-vholdr-uk.htm

I have the POV 1.0
Not got any green lane footage on it yet, but this:

and the helmet cam footage (not the bike cam)in this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uFWyffJCMw
gives you an idea of the quality

POV looks like a pro set up but a bit expensive for what I was looking for.

I've got the Contour HD Unit, good quality - here's a video that I took recently, we also have a discount set up with Dogcam from knobblies.org if anyone is thinking of ordering - just pm me.

I had one of them but it turned itself off all the time (I think because of vibration, I mounted it on the handlebars). I got one replaced, the second was no better so got a refund.

I suspect if you want to helmet mount it, then it will be fine.

I have one of these...it eats batteries and really only works on the best setting...which with a 2GB SD card is only about 30 minutes. Which is why I turn it off at the end of a lane and on again at the beginning of the next lane. You soon learn how to do this with the camera mounted to the lid, as removing it to switch on is easier than trying to remount it once powered up...unless you have a friend to place it on it's clip for you...very frustrating otherwise.
I carry a pocketful of spare batteries...the Energiser lithium batteries are best, as well as spare SD cards.
The mounting on the side of the lid is the best place, but the weight of the cam causes the mounting to become most important. If it is not solidly mounted to the lid it comes loose very easily, then it 'wobbles' too easily and this detracts from the quality of the picture.
I found that it si best to mount the cam on your lid, switch it on, then walk around the house filming yourself as you walk from room to room. This will then tell you if you have it mounted in the optimum position. No fun in filming the sky or the throttle because you don't have the cam set up in the right place.

I use the Pov 1.5. Bit expensive, just about DVD quality. BUT - an 8 GB SDHC card and a set of good AA rechargeables will last all day - about 6 hrs actual riding footage. Waterproof, and only the 1 cable from the camera head to the unit, and it has an infra red remote that I velcro to the bars. Rugged and virtually foolproof ! Just wish they made an HD version of it. Good kit.

Wireless and HD POV 2.0 coming early next year. Can't say anymore I'm afraid I'm sworn to secrecy :D

To answer the OP the ATC3k is rubbish, it's that price for a reason.

You get what you pay for:

POV 1.5 review
Muvi Review
GoPro HD review

All videos impartial reviews by myself.
