Me and a mate bought kawasaki klx 250's each about a month ago and they have been superb :D been through mud, ruts, deep water everything thrown at them out of the box and they start and run on the button, and a brilliant starter bike for trails, and best of all, long service intervals!! and new ones can be bought for under £4000 :D

Well I too live near Richmond and ride mainly in the Dales. I have a Scorpa 125 Long Ride a BMW G450x and just bought a KTM Frreeide. My order. of preference for a day in the Dales is KTM then the Scorpa but I now leave the 450 at home and keep it for Enduros!

As an ageing, heavy weight with medium length legs the BMW G650 Xcountry does it for me! Tourance tyres no good for the mud but fine everywhere else! Some reviews liken it to a traditional scrambler.

Cheers
