Evening all.

Whats the crack with octane boosters? Do they really work I.E improve acceleration.. Any other benefits or are they not worth bothering with?

Cheers
Paddy

Most modern (post 2000) bikes are designed to run on 95 ron.

Some of the older 2 strokes - aprilia 125's - preferred 97 ron.

Octane boosters may be handy if your in a country where you can only get poor quality fuel.

For your bike, they will make no difference at all.

You could try Super Unleaded pump fuel: I get better mpg using it trail riding on both my GasGas (2T) and CCM (4T) and you can 'slog' the engine (in a high gear at low rpm) for traction without causing pinking. But it seems to make little difference on the road.
