Squeaky brakes but looks like a great bike.

April’s issue of TBM is a milestone for us, as it's the 200th edition of the magazine - which has been in continuous publication since 1995!

In order to celebrate reaching our Bicentennial edition, we have put together a very special one-off issue (236 pages thick), featuring a selection of key photographs from the past 17 years and told the 'back-story' behind the photos - how and why they came about (including some content from Supermoto Magazine). We've mixed these picture-stories in with a selection of humorous features and our favourite outrageous letters from over the years, and then invited a number of our highly-steamed(!) contributors from the past 200 issues to spill the beans on us. All of this stuff is rubbing shoulders with contemporary content including the launch test of the new KTM Freeride 350 trailbike.

We think it's our best issue yet (it's certainly the biggest) and we'd love it to reach the widest audience possible. That's where you guys come in. Please forward this email on to any clubs, riding groups, TRF members, bulletin boards, bike forums (especially international ones), brand-specific bike groups, friends, acquaintances, in fact anyone you know who owns a dirtbike. We'd love this to be a truly global issue. And to that end we're planning on making a digital version available on iTunes so readers can download it.

May be looking good but you can't ride pictures.

KTM (and others) seem to work to a different calendar to to the rest of us.
Their new year starts in about June and they can't exactly define when "spring" is.

Far too much hype :( :(

Test ride in TBM April edition, whoop whoop !

It does look good, but...........

Looks don't provide a decent range. I don't see any indicators, I'm not a great fan of hand signals these days.

The massive front disk looks vulnerable for use on the Wiltshire lanes, and the front brake caliper has 3 more pistons than it actually needs. The rear caliper has 1 more piston more than it really needs

Chain guarding is minimal.

Can't see that rear subframe being able to support a small rack for carrying essential trail items or extra fuel.

Despite the engine being simplified from it's enduro cousin, it's still massively complex for a trail bike, just like all the other newish so called trail bikes.

What I want is a modern trail bike, ultra lightweight, ultra simple, quiet, a bit more powerful than the SL230 and Serow.

I wonder if you can electric start a Yamaha DT175MX ? Problem solved !

Well I sat on one today at my local orange shop. A lot higher than a Serow and slightly higher than my lowered TTR250.
Just finished reading TBM mag where I read "A new con rod kit reqd every 120 hrs"
Don't think I will be bothering somehow.

Gasp !

EDIT : So at the TRF code of conduct speed, that will be every 3000 miles ! Surely that can't be right ?

I'll be looking forward to the Ossa Explorer launch in June then !
