my step father has a ktm freeride 350, superb bike but the fan kicks on all the time, is the fan always meant to be on? is there any way of making the bike run cooler? he doesnt ride it hard either. Many thanks.

Perhaps this question should be put to the KTM agents selling these bikes?

We have tried that with no avail. Whilst reading this months TBM there was an article on 350's and it said a commin fauls was the fan always kicking in. Is there anyway of adding a supplement into the radiator to cool them down or something?

They've changed the mapping recently. Maybe the new mapping will make them run richer = cooler.

How many miles has it done? Often run hot until run in. Also be wary of fuel quality. Still at less than 50 mile range I imagine you'll be filling with fresh stuff regularly!

At stop start and pottering speeds the 690's tend to run the fan a lot. Solution is to speed up! 'tis quite happy running with fan on though. Fan usually runs a lot during horse trials in summer - slow speeds and stop./start collecting scorecards.

This freeride is the 2013 model with 16.5hours on the clock and 304 miles if that helps?
