Hi,
My bike is a CCM 644, its a 2003 model which i bought on ebay back in 2007 for £1600 and i absolutely love it (it's now got 10,000miles on the clock). Its good for road work, and gets me anywhere i want to go offroad. Its got a 12 litre tank so excellent range, a very comfortable seat, proper keyed ignition, unlike most modern bikes. All i've had to do to it since i bought it is change the oil and filter once and replace worn wheel bearings front and rear ,as well as regular tyre changes i always go for Mitas tyres. My mates have bought new or maybe 2 year old bikes and all they worry about is the depreciation, they've lost more than my bike cost me. I've had just as much fun and use out of my bike for about a third of the money. If i had to choose a brand new model to buy i wouldnt know what to go for , i've sat on loads of bikes at the Bike Show and they all feel like sitting on a plank of wood(with tiny bloody petrol tanks). My choice second hand would be between the HondaXR650L or a KTM640LC4 (i like big 4strokes if you hadn't worked it out already)

hope this info is helpful in some way

pete

My mate has a virtually brand new DRZ400S for sale with only 400 odd miles from new for £2500.

Here's a link though on the Devon TRF forum

CCM 404 for me, had 7000 miles of road use on it, 3 years old, and from a dealer cost me £2250. Cost less than £200 for knobblies, bash plate and handguards, so far I'm up to 14,000 miles, and replaced only consumables, at sensible service intervals, including 2 valve shims.

I reckon it's now stopped depreciating, and I could still get £1500 for it.

It's definately not for sale though.

And thank you for stopping the advertising in the forums. It was winding me up something chronic. If I want to buy, I'll look in the For Sale section!

Adverts are still fine, but they have to be non commercial and directly related to the forum.
