I have taken the plunge and instead of upgrading/buying a better trail/enduro bike....I have bought this



a Specialized eMTB - very impressed so far

Why?

To compliment my trail riding and so that I can access now closed trails, thanks to NERC2006 and general TRO'd UCR's

Now I am free to explore all these 'closed to motor vehicle' routes again and also a plethora of Bridleways and canal paths and old railway lines etc, plus all the free to use MTB trail parks that National Parks and Councils are pouring money into, whilst motorised routes are not repaired and failing into disrepair, in some parts

It's the future ................for trails

Very interesting, but does it come under the 'motorised vehicle ' category?

Have fun It looks like a 250w EPA ride it anywhere you can a Bicycle I have had mine about a month an a half it more than doubled the number of lanes I can ride. They only seem to piss off half the walkers unlike a motorbike and the only ones who seem to look at you like Dog poo are the hard core Mountain Bikers. And to them that knock them Try one it can be a I have seen the light moment not that I'm getting shot of the bikes anytime soon but life's too short an there is only so much fun you can have with your pants on that the pricks at the top have not made a Law against

It's a bicycle under 15.9 mph and can go anywhere bicycles go

It is pedelec (pedal assist) so unless you pedal nothing happens

There is no throttle so not a motorised vehicle

It opens up a whole new off tarmac world like you say and compliments my XR400

MTB trail parks are another exciting opportunity too - all free and we have 3 within 30 miles of home

I've been looking at these and can see myself getting one in the future - for exactly the reasons you give.

Yep had mine now for a year love going out and a group of us regularly do about 20+ miles off road , but you can bet a dollar to a pinch of shit that once the bikes are off the lanes the anties will then be after the mountain bikes

What make and model is it and what made you pick this particular bike over the others that are available.

i am very interested in getting something like this ......not because of the issues of access but i need to get fit again after a year or so of decline.

It's a Specialised Levo Comp

Mid range with good components for fork and shock

Main reason for choosing it was that it is controlled by a phone app and it makes the power/battery life fully customisable and means you can plan a route on the app and send it to the motor and then follow the route on your phone as a gps and the motor adjusts the power for the severity of the terrain in terms of battery usage and pedal assist
Therefore you can tell the Bike to complete the route with a % of battery left at end - so you never run out
Also you can use the Bike around town without the power turned on if you want as the motor is disconnectable from drivetrain

Specialised was the most sophisticated in my opinion at present

Wow, that some piece of kit, would it be rude to ask the cost..?
