I did consider a Ducati Scrambler as a fun road bike but didn't even get as far as a test ride.
To my mind, they are all styling exercises for going down the pub. A lot of fittings looked really flimsy. My mate had one for a while and raved about it but he usually does with every bike he buys but they don't stay much beyond the warranty period.

That said, the Sled may be a notch or two higher but are Ducati really committed to that market for the long term?

Just looked at some photos.
That rear shock looks very shallow - probably bottom out dropping off a high kerb.

I did wonder if being 6'3 might be a bit tall for quite a small bike, which was another reason not to bother pursuing the idea. I think they are also heavier than they look but maybe carry it low.

It has to be worth getting a test ride Mike, if only for the fun of it.

Yes Dave i was thinking along those lines but Phil's post before yours reminded me that i could not afford the necessary clobber. Besides which i just bought a full KTM suit to wear in the IOM with the Ribble valley Trailriders. 8-) Tony didn't recognise me then so he will have no chance if i turned up looking like Steve McQueen
