Rick Kemp - editor of Trail Magazine is looking for a volunteer TRF member to try out a new GasGas Trials bike that some have said suitable for Trail RIding.

The bike is based in Buxton near Derbyshire.

we are looking for someone sensible who can write an article for Trial Magazine on their experience with the bike which is available, by arrangement, including anytime next week.

Please contact Rick@trf.org.uk or call him on 07941233777 to discuss.

Gas Gas Motos Ltd. 33 Harpur Hill Business Park, Harpur Hill Buxton, Derbyshire SK17 9JL.

Will be a nice day out for a member around the peak district trails.

So some have said its good for the trails and not just trials, whom do you refer to Mario?

I used to ride Beamish Suzuki 250 Trials bike for some of my local lanes many years ago, its nowhere near as extreme as the gasgas, and more fun than a days trail riding, so will be nice to hear how this legal road going trials bike will shape up.

I wonder how insurance cover will be readily available?

It will be the Trials Contact, as seen here:

http://www.dirtbikes.com/2018-gas-gas-model-preview/

Bottom of the page: 0.9 gal tank and a proper seat.

Don't see why it would be a problem to insure it.

Nice to see GG making a range of bikes for us mortals to go alongside the superhero balance for hours while stood still models.

I always fancied one of those Beamish Suzukis...as you say, quite usable as a trail bike. Is it possible to fit one with lights?

Ah the Contact trials - didnt see that from Mario's link, or I did not know what to look for lol

yes proper seat, so insurance hould be easier

My Beamish had a front and rear light and great bike.

Plus such a simple chaain lube system.......oil in the swing arm, adjustable plug and clear plastic tube....worked great

Mario: Had a real good look at one of those at the Dirt Bike Show as a possible upgrade for Gwen, this year it has electric start. It has the same seat height and very similar proportions to her Randonne 125 with the added advantages of being lighter and more powerful than the bike she currently rides. We would be interested in writing an article putting forward both of our perspectives on that machine.

Thanks for all the calls on this.

I am pleased to mention that Phil Kinder chair of Manchester TRF has taken up this opportunity with Rick.

Phil has been a high-quality contributor with detailed articles and pictures on the TRF Forum for many years and will no doubt do a great job for the TRF with GasGas.

We look forward to seeing his work in a future edition of Trail magazine.
