Post subject:  Brake Pad advice

I have done a search and not sure this topic has been comprehensively covered given the options;

What are the recommendations for brake pads

What Make to buy? eg EBC

What type of pad? eg Sintered

Where to buy from?

I am currently looking for front and rear pads for a 2011 CRF250x so any recommendations appreciated.

I use Brembo pads in my CRF250X and have done for a while they last well and work well.

The original pads are always the best i find. Depends if your feeling flush.

Vesrah in my opinion are the best. They last ages, don't wear your disk out and provide excellent braking performance.

Only down side is they'll cost you £27 a set.

Nissin are OEM for a lot of the Jap stuff and Triumph and are generally cheaper than buying the same thing in a Honda/Suzuki/Triumph cardboard box.

Try your local dealer, my local - Frasers of Gloucester have always given me a good discount when I've produced my TRF membership card and I've confidence in the products they sell unlike some of the stuff on fleabay.

As a general point, I suspect that sintered pads may eventually be phased out for environmental reasons...too much copper in the water run-off from busy roads.
