Hi guys.

I bought a second hand DRZ400, the dash consists of the picture below.

I have been reading mostly good things about Trail Tech aftermarket dashboards. Has anyone used one?

Does anyone know how hard it would be to install? Drilling holes to install the bracket would be the easy bit. The bit I'm worried about is figuring out which wires would go where before soldering them all up. As you can see in the picture, there doesn't seem to be many loose wires, so I'm not sure how it would get the info for oil pressure, coolant temp etc?

Thanks in advance.

I have the Trail Tech Endurance on my DRZ...you just have a clock & speedo..a live, an earth and a cable to a magnet on the front disc so the speedo works...don't worry about anything else, it just over complicates things..

I wanted to have a rev meter, plus the usual idiot lights. Should I just leave it as it is then?

Why, You won't ever be looking at it as you'll be looking at the lane or road.

Trail tech Vapour...decent speedo. I like them. Do tempreturea and rev counter also which the DRZ doesn't come with. If you are near to kent and buy one I will fit it for you.....If you buy me beer. Lots of beer

Even I managed to fit my Trailtech to my old WR450.
I kept it simple to just speedo, miles, hours etc.
Didn't bother with temp gauge and definitely not a rev counter - never any chance to read it and you don't need one really.
Nice big numbers for the elderly.
Good piece of kit :D

I'm the UK Trail Tech importer.

The Endurance 2 (£85 inc post) does speed, trips, time, hours, is really simple to fit and does everything a general trail/enduro bike needs. This is the one I'd usually recommend for a dirt style bike.

The Vapor (£120 inc post) does all that plus temperature and RPM. It also has warning LEDs for temperature and RPM warnings (user settable).

The Striker (also £120) is very similar to the Vapor but has a voltmeter rather than RPM. The Striker can also be fitted with a remote switch (£18) to control the trip meter. The screen can be set so the trip meter is the only thing displayed and it can be incremented/decremented and reset to zero from the remote. This instrument is probably of more use to a trail rider than the Vapor. LDT/route card event riders like the Striker.

There are 10 different speed sensors, 12 different temperature sensors and 3 different RPM sensors. A specific kit can be built for pretty much any bike (or car) so if it's not listed it just needs a call to make sure the right sensors are supplied.

Vapor and Striker can have the optional warning light dashboard fitted (four warning lights). Great for road bikes, less useful on a dirt bike.
