Hello,

3 of us Midlands members are planning a trip to the IoM during Classic TT week for some trail riding and race watching. Having never been before, can anyone recommend (trail)bike friendly accommodation in the form of B&B's or (budget) hotels...who don't mind dirty bikers arriving back each night?!
We'll have a full car and trailer so no room for camping gear!

Anywhere considered.
Many thanks

Simon

Hi,
I have been over many times for the TT and Manx and always camped but recently I have done the Tour of Mann Rally in September and accommodation has been available!
For value and good service, try the Caledonian. Its on the Douglas prom so you can walk down into town for food and they serve a great breakfast. I think any of the hotels along the front will be pleased to accommodate you so it may be worth calling Steampacket holidays (as opposed to Steampacket ferries - same company but different department) who could possibly advise.

Anyway, here is the link for the Caledonian, I stayed last September and it was cheap and pretty good. http://www.caledonia.im/

Have fun, you cant go far wrong on the Island.

You might want to check with steam racket when booking the ferry as they offered a special deal on ferry and accommodation packages for the tour of mann rally. makes quite a bit of difference to the price of the ferry.

We stayed (twice) at the Casino Hotel, on the front in Douglas, twins are £70 a night, and they do a meal deal, I think it's a tenner each per night, the food is all you can eat, and extremely good, you get a free fiver for the Casino, which we turned into £30 ! (Always bet on black) and they have a pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi and a car park (costs though) It's like being on your holidays...!

Accommodation is always difficult to find during both the TT and the Classic (MGP). If you are struggling, try the 'HomeStay' service. Basically, private home owners offer up spare rooms (sometimes complete houses) - they are usually very good, and very economical. Try this link: http://www.iomttbreaks.com/homestay/homestay-guest.

Douglas is where the action is, but also consider any of the other towns, such as Ramsey, Peel, Laxey, Castletown, Port Erin and Port St Mary.

Have a great trip - wherever you end up, I guarantee you'll love it!
