Cams can only be 180 degrees out if the ignition firing point is derived from the camshaft, but this is probably impossible to do, as the trigger device is most likely keyed to the camshaft. Virtually all single cylinder engines have the ignition derived from the crankshaft, so have an extra 'wasted spark' at the end of the exhaust stroke, which effectively becomes the ignition spark if the cams are 180 degrees out. |
