Virtually all single cylinder engines have the ignition derived from the crankshaft, so have an extra 'wasted spark' at the end of the exhaust stroke, which effectively becomes the ignition spark if the cams are 180 degrees out.

I have bit the bullet and bought another engine. fed up with it sat in the garage..for £300 on a engine theres more fun to be had riding than getting stressed with it
