Depends if you wear one of the waist bags in which case you don't want a long rucksack

No, can't get on with bum bags and hence the backpack for light stuff

R15 For me when I'm riding rallies (and trail riding)

Yes it is a bit snug with a 2 litre bladder in there but I never carry tools in my back for the reasons stated, they live in a Kriega US5 strapped to the rear mudguard.

In Morocco last year I had 4 litres of water in it plus a load of other stuff and it still didn't feel heavy or cumbersome on my back, excellent bit of design that works on a bike. Also fits perfectly with my Leatt neck brace so another result!

Er nothing

Boots, goggles, gloves, helmet, mx jersey and trousers, some body armour, socks and pants

I hate feeling heavy or covered the only supplies I carry are in a goggle pouch down my shorts, wallet, phone...... AA card.

I should probably fit a rear tool bag maybe kriega 5Ltr, but I'm not keen, as for waist bag I wouldn't feel comfortable but an R8 did appeal but I know I wouldn't wear it.

Trouble is that although I've not yet had to use my "tool kit" on the lanes I just know the first time I go out without it will be the first time I really need it.

I use a cheap Mountain warehouse back pack with 2ltr drink bladder and mouth tube..
I've also got a Moouse bum bag tool belt.. I didn't like it wearing it on its own but had the bright idea to attach it to the bottom of the back pack with straps it already had and now the weight is off my hips AND the back pack has a belt so does not flap about..it's very comfortable...

I've also got a rear fender bolt on "KTM" branded eBay tool bag for £8.00 new but only use it for the bike lock and cable for lunch stops..usually cable lock 3 bikes together making it unattractive for opportunist thefts..cable and lock big enough to defeat most attempts not using a thermal lance and three bikes too heavy and cumbersome to quickly throw in the back of a van..

Would everyone who has commented on this thread be willing to take a photo of their packs and gear and provide a description of what they carry on the trail? I would like to use this as the basis of a story for the TRF website. I think all trail riders would be interested.

If you are up for it please can you drop me an email and we can get the ball rolling. Greg@TRF.org.uk

Thanks!

Fantastic Tony, thanks. If you can get pics of the bag and gear it would be great.
