My riding is 99% trail or horse trials (but with considerable road miles as part of the trail riding) and, for good or bad, my 400EXC is a 'keeper' as changing it for a different bike isn't really a justifiable option. I've also spent a bit of time and money getting it right for me. Partly due to most trail type bikes being relatively small, physically, for my 6'3 and, being about to retire, I not in a position to chuck a few thousand at a new bike. The only issue I have is that, even with the standard exhaust, the bike isn't over subtle, and it would be good to lower the db level a bit. I have stripped the silencer down and the packing is fine so it's not defective silencing. I'm not a believer in loud is safest, even very quiet bikes can be heard and I'm sure any reduction wouldn't render it as quiet as an electric bike. So...has any got a db killer or can recommend one? |

I'm trying them David but they are only available in the US now and the sizing doesn't seem to work very well. They are all huge diameters. $60 + delivery is a bit risky so I might try an email discussion. I suspect their silencers aren't the same as ours either and past experience with US sites means they can be as thick as two short planks. |

Almost thought it was Flynn returning under another name. Could be? Please don't go trail riding with a silencer that loud. I have gone the re-packing route as that seems the most viable option. DB killers seem to be unavailable because they probably ain't much cop. |
