Other question, I live near the beach and want to play around on it (when it is quiet of course) but I am afraid of sand and salt water ruining the bike.

How should you wash a motorbike after riding in sandy and salty conditions?

I think you'll find that it's illegal to drive a vehicle on most beaches unless you are launching or recovering a boat.

But, if you did, you would need to wash the bike in cold, fresh, water asap. I'd rinse it with clear water first before using any soap/detergent on it it get the salt off rather than risk washing it further in. I'd also get the chain off and into first fresh water and then paraffin asap.

When the Dunlop brothers' boat sank on their way to the IoM TT one year (seriously, it did happen), they stripped the wheels and bodywork off their bikes once they had been salvaged and submerged them in diesel to stop them rotting away!
