After what seemed like ages I have finally found what should be the ideal bike for me (DR350SE) and re-joined the TRF, my son has been hassling me for ages to get one so we can go out together, he will get to the gates first as he has a KTM 200EXC  . Anyway on to the point of this post, after securing my 1999 DR for a very reasonable price I have now noticed after viewing in the bright lights and warmth of my garage that the chain and sprockets are well past their expiry date, any supplier recommendations?

Generally I always buy the front sprocket as genuine from the manufacturer - not cheap as they can be up to £30

BUT they fit best and reduce output shaft spline wear, that you get with non genuine aftermarket front sprockets - get a new circlip from Suzuki too

After that either Talon or B&C for a rear sprocket & decent chain like DID

Avoid eBay as there are a lot of fake branded chains out there from China - they are like toffee

Buy a DID or Regina from a known supplier

JT steel front and back sprockets, EK oring chain...Hunters motorcycles in Newcastle... My Crf250x ones were £60 for the lot, delivered... And they were 'right as rain'...

And if you remove some of the teeth from the sprockets they will become lighter thus improving the ability for the motorcycle to carry additional essential loads - such as fish & chips from Compos'
