Hi All
As you all probably know the headlight bulb on these bikes are very poor.
Just wondering if there are any decent straight swap bulbs out there?

Changing bulbs hardly makes any difference.
If you put a high powered one in it will melt the plastic lens.
Either change the complete headlight unit for a trail tech one.
Or as Joel suggests add some Cree's.

I swapped the old tungsten bulbs for halogen on a 2005 250 RFS. It made a significant improvement and didn't melt the lens.

Also did the same on a 2009 690 Enduro R and a 2014 Husky 250 2t without lens melting.

I'm now running the Husky on an uprated trail tech. The trail tech comes with 35w halogen bulbs and I uprated these to 50w halogen and also upgraded the stator. It works very well!!

LED lights can work with AC but you get flicker. Better to uprate the stator and wiring to DC.

I have just fitted a pair of these bulbs to my 1190 and am thinking of doing the same for the 300 as it made such a difference.
Email them for a recommendation and factor in the customs charge when calculating cost.

Do you not you have a rectifier on the KTM as standard, surely the lighting is DC as is the battery and starter? its the alternator stator that produces AC.

I have fitted an LED headlamp bulb a s direct replacement for the BA20 bulb in my acerbic headlight unit on my Honda it is only 7w as opposed to the std 35w so the bulb uses much less draw but is way brighter but cooler than original bulb.
Comment from others in group say the other various bike look like candles when viewed with it.
