Yep I wear those latex workshop gloves under a pair of Thor insulator gloves and no problems last winter or since it's turned cold this year

Yeah, as we all know, it's important to look good for the three walkers that we may encounter per day, my self esteem is drawn from being out in all weathers, my knowledge of kit from the same source.Tried EVERYTHING, free bag of (not really) waterproof gloves to anyone who wants them... I will be in my muffs.Suffer little children...

Didn't realise it was that busy up there Joel.
We rarely see walkers on 95% of the lanes out of high summer but do get to meet quite a few lovely young ladies on horses.
Also the occasional dog walker but they tend to be so miserable we ignore them other than a polite but firm 'hello'.

I do recall many light years ago (1970's?) riding a bike with handlebar muffs and feeling horribly trapped - even if it was a misguided fear.

If it gets too wet, there is usually a cafe within half an hour :D

Re the Cafe half an hour away, you obviously don't ride with Alan... Ha,ha... You are in for the long haul with him, so preparation is the key.i had some of them shit £15 muffs of eBay, and they were fine, but a bit small, and the fleece (sheepskin-ish) lining got wet... Just got some Oxfords off eBay, much bigger and better, they came with an extended gauntlet ( sleeve) but the stitching was coming undone, so I cut them off, the seller re-funded me , and they fit neatly over my 'bark busters' .. All in all they are great, and free... They will come off in spring, when I can be 'cool' again...riding in thick gloves is shit.

Normal summer motocross gloves then marigolds over the top. Keeps gloves dry and hands warm. People have laughed but they all want some when the rain comes.
