My 2008 exc-f has a brake light that works on the rear brake pedal but not on the front brake lever. I’ve recently fitted a hydraulic switch (two wires) to the front brake lever & I’m looking for a designated connector to connect the two wires to.

I thought I’d found the correct connector spliced into the rear light wires & located just above the air filter but this wasn’t the one.

I’d rather not splice into the loom if there is an existing connector.

Can anyone help?

Follow the connector back from the rear brake light into the loom?
Better yet download the manual as it has full wiring diagrams.

If you remove the headlight, you should see an aluminium plate sitting below the speedo which has a row of plastic connectors mounted to it. The two pin connector furthest to the left hand side (looking rearwards from the front of the bike) containing a yellow wire and a green/white wire, are the two wires which operate the front brake light switch. :)

If you want to make up a lead using a connector that will plug into this socket, PM me your e mail address and I'll send you a PDF showing the KTM part numbers required. :)

Excellent! I had a feeling it was a connection behind the headlight. Now I know which one it is it'll save a lot of messing around.

Thanks
