I have a 3-day ride coming up soon; a large amount of this will unavoidably be on tarmac.

My bike is a 250 EXC-F, and I usually use Maxxis IT/Enduro tyres. Road miles wear these excellent tyres really quickly.

So, what would you recommend that will survive the tarmac and be ok on the trails? I do realize that there will be some compromise in off-road grip!

Cheers

I'll be doing the trip on Maxxis IT usually get at least 3x3 day trips out of the back tyre and nearly double that from the front.

The choice is yours.

Mitas CO2 is rear only
I don't worry too much about the wear of front tyres.

Maxxis do 3 types of IT - the more modern 7313 F and 73414 rear are best.

I like Mitas sport xtreme 914Front

Cheap and quite good Pirelli Scorpion MX extra.

It depends on how many miles.
I get best part of a year out of my Mitas Extreme and we have 80% road work down here so at least 600 miles on road, maybe a bit more?
I'd take the tyre cost hit rather than compromise on the lanes.

I had a CO2 on the back and would rather have ridden on the rims. Horrible concrete tyre.
I took it off after two rides.
