I think the EXC might be a bit too focused. I think I'm looking for a duel sport model.

I'd say come out on your trans alp, meet some of the other guys, see what they are riding and try them out.

You can have a go on my 450EXC though I don't know that I will be out for a while. Don't be put off by the EXC bit, you can ride them fast, you can ride them slow, as long as you are happy to keep up with the maintenance. I'm a sucker for orange but it doesn't really matter what you're riding really - it's the trails and the company that will put a smile on your face.

Have a look through this post, it will give you an idea of the varied bikes doing a 2 day coast 2 coast ride a couple of years back and some of the trails they were capable of.

OK just back from laying down my cash on a 04 yam ttr250 I recon its a bit of a steal only 3000 road miles full dealer service history spotless (for now) £2500 :lol:

£2500 for a 2004 TTR 250. Sound overpriced to me mate
