Some people don't like change (it was common on 2t in the 70/80s) It was one of the main reasons I chose the X trainer, not having to mix the fuel at the pump. Great bike For short legs and its starter works first prod every time as well.

To all you current owners - a question??

Picked up a new xtrainer yesterday - now can't get it insured as the xtrainer is not listed on any underwriters that I can find.

Who did you get insurance with?

Thanks

Hmmm, that's interesting.
I have all my bikes insured with Principal but they couldn't do the X Trainer for some reason.
Ended up going with MSM Insurance www.msminsurance.co.uk
Very helpful and friendly service.
They were recommended by the Beta dealer as they offer specific trials and enduro cover included.

Thanks fellas, I'll give principal a call.
I was with ebike and had 3 bikes on it. Called to replace one bike with the beta. No could do.....
Tried a number of those comparison sites. No could do.
Finally called Carol Nash. Although not listed, they said Avila would underwrite the beta. So moved all 3 bikes to carol Nash. Cost is now over 300 as opposed to 180 before the beta.
I'll try principal and see if I get on any better. I'll let you know!
Thanks

I REALLY like the look, and the idea of the x trainer - are there any dealers in the Cambridgeshire area ?

Not sure where you are based? I reserved mine from John Lee & Sons motorcycles at:

8 Market Square, Higham Ferrers, Rushden, Northamptonshire NN10 8BP

www.johnleemotorcycles.co.uk

01933 312827

Very nice people. Chas reserved one of 2 bikes on Monday until I could get up on Weds. If I had not reserved it, they could have sold it 3 times! Don't think they have any more in stock, but they have more on order (could take a few months apparently). Give them a call.
Thanks

Well - finally settled on the Carol Nash insurance for the X Trainer - Principal, ebike and others do not show the bike on their 'drop down list' of bikes. Sure this will change over time, but happy that the thing is insured as an 'X-Trainer' not 'RR 300'.........

Number plate arrived on Friday, so managed to get out on maiden ride on Saturday. Rode around 60 miles of Road/Trail in Surrey. Very happy :D

Not sure how others bikes have been delivered, but mine came with 13/51 sprockets and the carb jetted for competition (actually it was very well prepped by John Lee Motorcycles - thanks). I found it very peppy, especially compared to the KTM 200. Oddles of pull throughout the rev range, but very noticeable 'bottom end' grunt. Lovely jubbly :D

No problems with starter or autolube or suspension - all round a great package. Fairly sure I'll be changing the sprockets at some point and putting mousses on - may even alter the jetting a little (a bit leaner) when it has completely run-in. However, out of the crate it is a very impressive bit of kit for the money and I'm very happy to have one!
