Halfuds do a nice map case that straps onto your bars with velcro tabs, it's only about a fiver.

Most of our route leaders use GPS these days.

I've just bought a Moose roll chart holder, from the good ole US of A. They have their enduro routes marked on 2.5" wide paper strips, fastened into the route chart holder, just wind it on as you go. (A la Paris-Dakar)

It has meant sitting at the 'puter devising the right width columns, rows and symbols, not to mention the turn by turn logging of the entire route, but the advantage is that there is no need to stop and pull maps out, find where you are, and where you need to go next, etc etc. You can wind it on as you go.

Of course, you still need to pack the map, as it's no use if you miss turns and stuff.

Maybe they were out of stock, they look like this, good kit, lasts for ages

Or, if you want to make your own road book.

I use A4 maps printed off Anquet mapping, which I then laminate back to back and stick them tucked down the back of my headlight. Works fine for easy access.

You can make a road book holder out of a food storage container.
