well yesterday was my 1st day out on the lanes and all i can say it fantastic, wish i'd started years ago.
met tim and we started gentle through cathrington then on to meet dave and we started in clanfield then went up over butser hill and then crossed the 272 and he said cause your doing so well i know a challenge and we went up this track which was steep and full of chalk, the feeling at getting to the top was great then we went on to loomis cafe for a well earned coffee and break then a road ride back to pompey as me and the family were off out on the after noon.
just off to give the bike a good clean and cant wait for the next one
a few people thought my choice of bike was wrong, honda xr250 with e start but she was great and did everything i wanted her to do.
i was also worried about being cold
i had a pair of long johns on with a pair of fox mx trousers and a pair of army water proof trousers on top.
on top i had a long sleeve top under my fox pressure suit and a enduro type jacket over that and didnt feel cold once.
the only real problem i had was with gear changing - i was wearing a pair of hein greicke mx boots and found it hard to get my foot under the gear change - will maybe move it round on the splines.
and i will maybe invest in a set of bar risers to make riding on the pegs more comfortable on my arms.
hope this is some help to any one starting out
