My Yam 250 F is fitted with a standard fuel tank that holds 8 litres.

Will this be enough for the average "green lane" outing ?

I could buy a 12 litre tank for it, but they are £250 :o

A friend with a WR450F found that even with a careful right hand that the standard fuel tank did not hold sufficient go-juice. So he bought a bigger tank that was as slim as standard but a bit taller so as to hold another couple of litres.
Instead of buying new look out for one on say ebay. One for the 450 also fits the 250.

I've put an Acerbis 12.5l tank on my WR450F but the 250 is way more economical than a 450 so I think you'll be ok. You only have to outlast the first to run low and I'm sure you'll do that with all those nasty KTM's out there ;)

Nasty KTM's???

From experience I have found that most bikes fitted with the Keihin FCR carb have a metered amount of fuel that seems to far exceed the abilities of many a Mikuni carb. There are kits out there on the market which can enhance the capability of the FCR carb even further, but in the whole I think that the use of this carburretor goes a long way to it's acceptance by the likes of CARB in California to the machine being 'Green Sticker' labelled without any modifications for use on off-highway routes.

But seriously, lets not start dissing ones choice of machinery.

Try a Gas Gas Pampera for a day.

It'll make your stock tank seem HUGE!
