Hi there, Yes I've got one. Cracking bike, not as easy to ride as an XR but good fun. Starting made easier by replacing the stator and replacing the throttle with a trials item made it more progressive and pleasant!
Sorry about the rubbish quality photo!

Never ridden an XR!! When replacing the stator do you just use a new OEM part or a different spec one from another lc4?

Bike being delivered later this week - can't wait!

what's it like on fuel and servicing?

John

I bought a stator from ebay of all places and it was brilliant. The guy trades under the name electex-world. I found out that the SEM original loses performance as it ages and mine had got to that point and beyond which made starting a nightmare.
Pretty good on fuel, no worse than a DRZ 400 for example but servicing should be frequent. Can't remember exactly but oil changes every 12 or so hours sounds familiar. They only hold about 2.1 litres hence short intervals. I use these guys for parts http://www.bikersjersey.com. Parts take about 2 weeks to arrive but their service is really good and comparatively cheap! I love the bike and it would take something pretty special to replace it.

Thanks for the info.

I got it as a second bike. Don't really want to use the 690 for enduro's!! I read the 350 should be a lot lighter about 120kg? As said can't wait to get it. If all good will get a centrestand for it (no stand at present). The bikersjersey site look v good Ta. I'm guessing the electric system doesn't have a battery?

Hi there,

You're right, no battery. Can't remember off hand what it weighs - I'll have a look in the manual later.

Regards,

Nick

That looks nice John - will you have it for the weekend? ;)

How are you on left hand kickstarts?
Plus you can only ride deep lanes or tree lined ones by the look of the parking facilities. :D (or big ruts maybe).

Might be here for the weekend. Depends on courier. Found a centre stand for it. My old Aprilia Tuareg 600 was a left kicker. I find left Kickers easier than right. The LC4's are relatively easy to kick anyhow. I wish my 690 Enduro had a kickstart as well as electric. There's something slightly effeminate about electric start on a dirtbike.
I expect I'll go for a new stator as pointed out by Nick T (Cheers).

I like the concept of a 350cc for the trail. Just seems an ideal capacity. Bit more go than a 250cc for the road but not as much a handfull as a 450 on the dirt. I understand they're fairly heavy compared to similar modern bikes? Bonus! - should keep me more fit then!

With regard to parking I was just going to lean it against the nearest Yamaha (knew they had a purpose)

I fell into that parking one :D
I tried kick starting mine a while ago (admittedly not with boots on) and decided a button is much easier - never did get it going  so I ought to try properly really.
