This applies to Yamaha WR 426's WR 400's.Maybe 250's and 450's as well To save yourself some £££'s.
When I first started riding Yam's I was shocked to find a dual filament headlight and a tri-blade connector, with the headlight only using 2 of the blades. The third was the low beam. I Simply embedded a female connector into the plug, crimp a wire to it, stripped the power wire, and soldered the new added wire to it. The effect is that now my low beam is always on, and when you flip the switch, it goes to highbeam. Cost's you nothing.
Pix of headlight wiring: The green wire is the one inserted into the plug, and is brand-new. All the rest of the wires were already there. All you have to do is insert a female blade connector into the plug, crimp the green wire to it, and solder it to the yellow wire.
